A gloat I think...

Local Lowe's had PC 609 LRVS router with fixed base and plunge base on closeout for $79.00. All the boxed sets were gone, but I got an additional 10% off the display model, sans manual, guide fence, wrench, box, and whatever other goodies were in the box. So I got the router, 2 bases and a 1/2" collet for a little over 70 bucks. They had the original price listed at $269.00. I feel good, I love good deals and I've read good things about this router, even though another router was not on my "need" list. Does anyone else have this kit that can tell me what other parts or accessories I may be missing in my display model? Is this worth of gloatdome?

I may be wrong, but unless they've changed something, the Porter-Cable 690 doesn't come as a multi-base router. I think that there is a model 693 that comes as multi-base though.

i don"t understand how some guys always seem to find these deals at lowes and hd. i had to buy a new chainsaw a few weeks ago and talked to the manager of each store and could not even get a seniors citizen discount. ed

That's correct, my bad for the typo. It is the 690 and it did come with the 6931 plunge base.
