Wireless on laptop issue

I have a dell laptop. When I log in my wireless strength is very very low. I have found away around it by clicking on the strength meter , its the dell wireless WLAN card utitlity manager. I click on diagnostics an run it and it all passes, as soon as I do that I get full strength.
I do need a new battery and it tells me this everyday but this is when hardwired.

Any ideas?

It almost sounds like you are running two wireless management apps. as for the battery as long as you are plugged in you should nut have a problem connecting.

Check the power settings. The Wireless card is probably on reduced power after a certain time.

It should come to full power when you need it though.
