I moved the shop from NJ to NC (and me I guess) on May 19. I just spent some time loading up a bunch of shots to my Picasa album. For those interested:

This has been a long time coming. There are a few 'during' set of pictures on picasa too.... if you would like to see the shop's progress view them in date order.

The shop is fully functional and I've been shipping for a few weeks, but there are a few more work stations to be built including the sanding table, an important one.

A few 'after' shots with a few too many folding tables still keeping stuff off the floor:

May 19? Man that was fast! Granted, I do this strictly as a hobby, but I'd have been happy with this much progress if I started May 19, 2009 :-) Anyway, welcome to NC, plenty of woodworking enthusiasts around here. Terrific looking shop BTW.

No, no, no. I started in September, coming to NC for a week at a time. Look at the picasa albums. I've got hundreds of hours tied up in this place. It was so ready for machines that by the time I got here with the shop tools that I was up and running in about a week.

Very efficient setup!! Looks like you did the necessary planning to make it all come together very well. Beautiful setting, too!

It is hard to remember or tell with screen names, but I assume you already stumbled on NC Woodworker dot net? If not stop by and join.

Outstanding! Outside Asheville - beautiful country. Welcome to the (greatly extended) neighborhood. Y'all.

Two key points in comparing NC to NJ:

1) fewer jughandles
2) more goats

Funny thing.... I have a little over 2 acres to mow and another 1.5 just growing as field. A neighbor suggested a coupla goats - I nearly fell over.

No goats for me, I raised 2 kids. KIDS, GET IT?

HAHAHAHAHAHA

....long day.....

Nice studio Mitch. It looked a lot bigger when it was empty.

Beautiful property.

Yea, the walls do close in a bit huh? Bit.... until you clog up the space with things that get in the way, it's just a box of air.
