Im looking a a new jointer and found the shop fox t23046, which is marked the same as the w1755. Ive posted this on some other forums and cant really find anyone who has one of these or knows about them. The price is seems really cheap $450, and shipping is 20 bucks somehow. So is this a good jointer, or is there something else I should be looking at around the $500 range?

Can't tell you much Luke with the exception is has hand wheels in lieu of levers which I prefer. I compare what I see to the old Jet and Sunhill 6" which are very similar from appearance. It does not have a built in mobile base as the SF 1745. That alone is about a $70-$80 add on if you need it mobile which I suspect.

So.. from what comparison I could make the $450 is not a bad price in a 46" bed jointer. The $20 shipping (?) must be from your local dealer as they will generally deliver a Shop Fox from there? Just guessing on that.

Good luck...

heres where im really confused about the price. Also its a 55 inch bed too, or at least the specs say that. http://www.grizzly.com/outlet/6-Jointer-w-Parallelogram-Bed/T23046

That is a very good deal on that Jointer.

Makes me think they are ending that line .. Shop Fox has been switching new product to CSA complaint machinery ..

Either way, good price. I have used that same model once and have an associate who owns it. Its been a decent machine for the size and price.

Opps... I made the comparison on the 23045 and not the 23046 which is a parellelgram. The 23046 is the idenical jointer to the Grizzly 0604X as far as I can see from specs down to the approximate weight. The 55" bed makes a difference over 46" even though only a foot longer. You want as long a bed as you can get. The Griz 0604X is on summer sale for $625 with standard price of $695 plus shipping. For $450 and $20 shipping I would jump on that like flies on.... well..... jelly! haha...

must have been a screw up on shipping. its now at 90 for shipping, but still seems like a good deal for me
