Here you go Steve. You were right the pump was in the direct line of fire. I built this lexan cage to protect it. By the way, Mr. Steyer had this same concern, and suggested that I mount the pump further to the right on the backboard, but I wanted to keep the lines as short as possible, so this should work. IF I ever get my lathe running again, I'll let you know:mad:

Ray, I can't tell... is it open on the ends?
Was it wood chips that caused the problem, or dust?
Either way, it looks like a neat job you did on it.

Yes Alllen, it is open on each end. So far there hasn't been a problem, because the system has never been used yet. I built this just to keep the pump from being constantly bomb-basted by chips, moisture. It is in direct line of fire of the chuck.

Okay... my mistake or misread... I thought you built the shield to solve a problem...
