Wow, Paul. You must have some great views from that shop, but I wonder about the corrosion... Got all your cast iron well waxed?

And when you get tired or frustrated with woodworking just grab your fishing pole and go outside.

Dang, 2 of my favorite hobby's within steps of each other.

Man all you would need to add is some deer to hunt and I would be in heaven...

We don't hunt deer in this area none around , lots of moose though.

Will be receiving a new 3hp Onieda Dust collector on Friday so next big job is to instal that and plumb in the pipe.

It is a nice location and I do have a great view. When the tide is high I have water under the shop . It is not always sunny. Here is a pic of a very high tide and a big storm last fall

Were you sweating it when you took the picture? I would’ve had a heart attack!

No it was too cold and wet to sweat. I built it well it is anchored to the bedrock and has a large crib underneath filled with rock.

This pic shows the old building that I removed before I laid the beams for the new workshop. The posts you see sticking up out of the snow are the supports that the new workshop sits on and they are part of a rock filled crib that holds it all in place (so far at least)

I was quite surprised to read that you built it on a crib... Isn't land easier to build upon? isn't building over water heavily regulated?

But then I looked up in Google maps just where "Harrington Harbour is located and I understood... Wow, that is a seriously isolated little community!

Stay warm!

Holy Cow dude --- in addition to water proofed tools being required, some serious vapor barrier, and many prayers said......................... I love it!

I'll assume when she's blowing like this ya not in the shop ??? so why fret things. Just keep the insurance premiums current eh!;)

Here is another place I spend my time the building on the left is a solar kiln. Middle building is a firewood shed full of slabs cup up for the winter the other building is my sawmill shed. This is located on a small island next to Harrington Island
