I turn shaving brushes and give them to my friends... family...etc. I think they are really neat and unique gifts.

I recently ran out of soaps and need to order more. I found something new (for me) and decided to try them out. This Company 'Em's' has these; Glycerian Shaving Rounds. Theses 'rounds' are enriched with extra glycerin and I'm here to tell ya. I've just had the Best Shave of My Life! The razor just seems to want to glide over the skin.

This is one sweet experience!!! You can find them here.

Ok... I just had to ask... I normally use a razor to shave with... does a brush cut better? ;)

Golden Nib is where I get my 'knots' of badger hairs. They have a nice variety. Like turning a bottle Stopper... although I've never turned a bottle stopper.

Now this isn't wood. But you get the idea. I had a friend cast this Buckeye medallion for me. This is my sons brush. knot came from Golden Nib.

You can go here for the thread that has more pictures: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=117010

I am a year and half late replying but as to shaving soaps, I have found these cottage industries to be very reasonable and high quality, in no particular order:
Bay Rum: http://www.ogallalabayrum.com/

Mama Bears: http://mamabearssoaps.com/

Saint Charles: http://www.saintcharlesshave.com/
