This helmet is made from Maple Burl and Feathers. It's 20" tall on the stand. The helmet is 6" in diameter and 14" tall without the stand. The finish is poly. Thanks for looking and for your comments.

Hey, I have to tell you folks...Richard wears this helmet to all of our club meetings-)). He's working on a suit of armor to go with it...Maple burl, of course.

Very nice Dick, but it's closer to a Greek Hoplite (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hoplite_helmet.svg) (circa 500BC) helm then a medieval one

Dave Schweitzer has done a Great Helm (http://www.d-waytools.com/images/gallery/hlm-1lg.jpg) that is done in figured Big Leaf Maple
