I have a Ryobi 13" planer and the question I have is, is there any danger to having the knives sharpened or should I just throw them out. I know the Ryobi is about as low as you can go on the planer totem pole but after 7 years of service it is still going strong and does exactly what it is designed to do. I have found that the knives can handle about 150 to 200 bf of oak or cherry before needing to be flipped. Is this about the norm or am I doing something wrong? Please help
