I have a rough draft of a board jack that can be used on any workbench that has dog holes.
I got this idea from friend of mine. I thought it was pretty cool, so I decided to pass it on.
Basically, it is a board that fits into a dog hole on your bench. The top of the board is small enough to fit into a dog hole. The bottom of the board has a series of holes in it. You put a peg into which ever hole you need to support the piece you are working on at the time. You slide it into the dog hole from underneath the bench and secure it with a peg. It then functions pretty much like a traditional sliding board jack.
