Could someone please point me in a direction where I could find the difference between Stanley #440, #740, #750, and Everlasting Stanley chisels?
Thank You,
Bob Warfield

Not sure if there is a place on the internet for that.

John Walter's book Antique & Collectible Stanley Tools guide to identity & value is a good reference for that kind of information.

The #440 chisels have a turned over knurled ring at the top of the socket.

The Everlasting chisels have a steel cap and a shank going through the handle.

The #740 chisels are referred to as pocket chisels at 12 to 12-1/2 inches in length when new.

The #750 chisels are referred to as butt chisels at 9-1/2 to 10-1/4 inches when new.

Thanks for the information Jim. What's your opinion of the quality of these chisels?
Thanks'

I like the quality of Stanley chisels. Because of the slight premium of price, the ones that have come my way are sold if they duplicate the sizes I have in Buck Brothers or Witherby chisels.

I do have one Stanley #440 1-1/4 inch that I like and use.
