Hello All,
Out a yew branch.
Some years ago, I was intrigued by pieces turned by Tom Crabb.
recently, a German turner Jo Winter displayed similar pieces
As a result, I've tried with my modest ability to turn a little yew pot for tea
H 133mm, just shaving polish
Comments welcome
Friendly, Lionel.

ok that's very cool... how did you do that? I've seen off-set turning on goblets, but how did you get in between the spout and top? Did you turn that or carve that part?

Very nice. Now I want to see some small tea-cups ! Or you could re-characterize it and call it a Sake set ;)

LIONEL! you can't post something that cool and not tell us how you did it.I'm very intrigued. How many axis's are there. It looks like three to me but I really don't know.

Thanks for your comments...

@ Dave:
turn the body and the two necks. carve the space between and some wood I can't turn because the necks.
@ Alex:
You're right, 3 axis one for the main turning, another for the long neck (++inclined) and the last for the little
neck (slightly inclined)
Hollowing per bottom....
I've cut a slice just under the bottom in order to invisibly close the hole.
Unfortunately, in the hurry of gluing this, I've misplaced so the figuration of the wood is slighty rotated
Have fun with your turnings, Lionel.

I assume that you do know that yew is poisonous? Wouldn't want to drink tea (or saki) from it and DON'T use the shavings for animal bedding!

Very cool job! Takes good nerves to turn with that spout whistling around!

Lionel - once again you have posted a turning that is outside of what we see day to day! Great imagination! Really like the burnished finish - gives it a soft and warm look!

Thanks for sharing Lionel! Looking forward to seeing what you turn next!

That's really cool, Lionel. I've just started to play around with off center turning, and I love the effect you've created with this one.
