I saw this a year ago and wanted to try it. So today we fried up a pile of potato's and deer meat for my students to eat. It is a great way of fixing a potato. They fry up very crispy.

And I wonder how many folks here will try that. With the potato, not the venison.

Well guys we just came up with another excuse for a HUGE VS lathe:
"Honey....I can also use it as a rotisserie to barbeque an entire deer or 1/4 of an elk"......."See Honey.....you build a fire down here and the slot in the bed of the lathe allows a controlled size flame to heat the meat" and....."Yes Dear! It makes those potato curlies that you like so much.....why this thing will replace 1/2 the utensils in the kitchen Dear!"
"And it's VS...so if the flame is too hot.....just spin it faster with just a turn of the dial like this honey"......:D

Jack - I think your students should be feeling a little spoiled about now! New lathes, tools and then this? That's great! Enjoy your summer!!!

When you get fed up of eating them fried you can mount them in a chuck and hollow them out.
Then you can stuff them with the venison.

The vortex does some really weird stuff to people:D. Gotta laugh at that;)

The vortex does some really weird stuff to people:D.
Occasionally when spinning around in the vortex, it is possible to hit your head on a chunk of burl flying around. :p

Thanks everyone, it was a great way to fix up a potato. My students all ate until they couldn't eat any more. It was the first time any of us had a potato fixed in such a way and for 4 students it was the first time for them to eat venison. A good day for sure.
Thanks again,
Jack
