I have a question about sanding end grain on a raised panel door. How do you go about it? Do you try and get as close as you can to the fillet and sand down to the edge or just sand lightly with high grit paper across the grain?

How do the cabinet manufacterers do it seeing as time is of the essence?

Thanks

Manufacturers do it with very sharp inset tooling and profile sanders that cost mega dollars.

I generally use a small rubber backer and sand by hand just a bit. You can make a profile block from pink foam and glue paper to it but I find just using a small block that is a bit flexible works pretty well.

Did I mention sharp cutters?

i start with those 3m foam sanding blocks followed with the higher grits by hand.
