2" = 50.8mm

Am I missing something?

Dan, mathematically you are 101% correct.
If you have gcc spirit with 2' lens, please measure the leg of manual focus & tell me.

The manual focus tool rests on the holder and may be much shorter than 2". On my Trotec it's only about an inch and a quarter though I use a 2 inch lens.

Why don't you experiment until you find the right focal point, measure it, and make a tool from acrylic?

Sorry, one stupid question; Are you talking about this tool :confused:

That tool is for the Spirit and the Explorer - they both use the same one - the blue part has a grub screw and can be moved up and down the black shaft - the mercury has a single piece completely metallic blue anodised tool - it isnt adjustable

Thank you for the info Rodne, this is something I've been wondering. Since i started with my GCC ( Spirit GX 60W ) I couldn't go through 10mm birch ( with factory settings ). So I refocused it and now I can cut easily 16mm birch... I measured the lenght of my tool and it's 77,5mm. Seems that I have to make some tests with 74mm, maybe I've missed something...:confused:

- Hannu

The spirit GX might use a different length - i dont have one so , maybe the 77.5 is right
