I've been turning for 15 years and have just recently decided to try turning bowls. I have managed to turn a couple of small bowls and one segmented bowl. I'm on my second segmented bowl and just can't seem to turn the inside. The outside is easy, kind of like spindle turning. I've watched a ton of videos on the 'net about bowl turning but none give any directions on how to hold the bowl gouge or approach the inside of the bowl. My technique sucks when it comes to the inside. If any turners live in Deland I would really appreciate some over-the-shoulder instruction.

Thanks!

Jon

check out the AAW website and look for a turning club near you. It'll speed up the learning curve. Welcome and good luck.

Try getting in touch with Allen Cole. He lives in Deleon Springs (I think that's close to you). He's an active turner and a really nice guy. The e-mail I have for him is: acoleshop@aol.com. If that does not work try: 386-985-5190.
