Hey All,
A good friend of mine gifted me his Grandfather's draw knife. It's kind of hard to make out any markings, but believe me, it's old. It's also sharp as the dickens. So, here are the questions:

What are the best applcations for this wonderful gift?
What is the best method for sharpening (the blade seems to have a compound curve).
What are that differences in application between the draw knife and the spoke shave?

Thanks for any and all advice!

Maurice

Hey Mau!

I think Bob Smalser posted a good tutorial(SP) on sharpening a draw knife. We used them them in scouts 37 years ago to strip bark and dimension logs to a (real) rough size.
The Spoke shave is sharpened and works very much like a plane where as a draw knife is alllllllll Blade.
