Maple Vessel

Have been working on a few hollow vessels lately, this one is maple with a cherry lid/finial. The cherry has sat outside for years so it is quite dark. Didn't know that cherry changed it's color so deeply. Live and learn. Dimensions are 8 1/2 x 10.

Dan, really nice contrast with the cherry and maple! I like the detail on the underside of the lid, and you used a very interesting way of seating the lid with the concave rim.

Nice detail work on the finial! Looks fancy enough to grab attention and yet looks like it would work great as a functional handle to remove the lid! Cool design!
