Need help!!!
I am a little (a lot) apprehensive hollowing a piece of wood on the lathe. I was used to a sliding headstock (Shopsmith) but I have acquired a Rockwell Delta with a Reeves drive and variable speed that has a reverse feature.
Would the piece come off the threads? when turning and hollowing Thanks for your input
And Thank you to those of you that participated in the "swap" love the stuff you sent, can not wait to turn something and of course I will post

Personally, I only use reverse when sanding. I know that some turn in reverse with a grub screw tightened onto the spindle to prevent the chuck or face-plate from unscrewing.

Try to find someone near by and get a little hands-on instruction, it will help a lot.

Dennis, thanks thats what I thought it was too good to be true it sure seems easier to do, I know enough not to try without asking for assistance. I will just get used to or go to other sides of the ways.
Thanks again for your response
