Had the opportunity to use the Dennis Stewart arm brace with John Jordan Hollowing tools last weekend. I really liked the feel of the set up.
Does anyone know where to get the Stewart arm brace? Found a similar Sorby for sale, but don't know anything about it? My preference is to buy from the individual rather than a company when given the choice. Any help is appreciated.

From the AAW website:

Dennis Stewart Enterprises (503) 324-1111
52180 NW Scofield Road
Buxton. OR 97109

Specialized hollowing tools, arm handles and other woodturning tools
Found on www.packardwoodworks.com (http://www.packardwoodworks.com/)

However, you need to search the site - I found this (http://www.packardwoodworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=packard&Product_Code=106402&Category_Code=)http://www.packardwoodworks.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/106402-img.jpg

You might want to check out Don Pencil's version, the Scorpion. It's supposed to have several improvements over Stewart's original. I've not used this tool, but I've several of Don's other items and have been happy with both the quality and the service.

Here's a link to Don's website: http://donpencil.com/

Craig:

I bought a used Dennis Stewart arm brace last year from someone on a woodworking forum. You may want to list a WTB ad on the various woodturning websites as well as with your local woodturning clubs.
