Hey guys,
It's been a while since I have posted here... and well I have been busy. here are my most recent pieces... I have been on a platter kick.:D

The first two pictures are of the top and bottom of a Bloodwood platter with Maple, Ebony, and aluminium inlays. It is 9" in diameter, and 5/8" thick at its thickest point.

Pictures 3 and 4 are of the top and bottom of a Royal ebony and Eucalyptus platter with Ebony, Holly, aluminum, copper, and brass inlays... the bottom of the plate is maple. It is 12" in diameter, 3/4" tall, and 3/8" thick.

Pictures 5 and 6 are of the top and bottom of a Purpleheart and Maple platter, with Purpleheart, Holly and aluminium inlays. It is 11 7/8" in diameter 5/8" tall and 3/8" thick.

All are finished with blo and friction polish then hand buffed.

Thanks for looking and as always C&C are welcomed and encouraged.

Brian, nice work on those. I have been wanting to do some platters, and you have given me some ideas. I particularly like the last one - the Purpleheart and Maple - very balanced, and good energy. It is the clear pick of the litter for me!!

Ooo... geometry... If I had to eat off of one it would be the "Royal ebony and Eucalyptus platter with Ebony, Holly, aluminum, copper, and brass inlays". That's just insane! The purpleheart one is awesome too.

Very interesting, I like the royal ebony and eucalyptus, though I'm not sure I like the top and bottom being so different.

Those are amazing. I've been sitting here trying to figure out how you do that inlay work, but I finally gave up. Pretty cool stuff. :)
