I am in the middle of a project where I needed some very precise chamfers and I needed a finished surface that required no sanding. I had seen this guide that fits on their LA block plane in the catalog some time ago and thought "who'd ever need that?" Well, I did this week. It does what Lee Valley says it will do and does it well. It replaces the moveable shoe on the plane, first you set the width of the chamfer, install it and go. It cuts to the set width and no more. Really slick and fast. No machine marks, no burning and no sanding required. It will probably replace a router for me at least on small chamfers as it is faster and better. Just another excellent tool from Lee Valley.
