Can someone tell me how to change the chisel bushing on the ShopFox Mortiser?
The one that's in there is too big for a 3/8" chisel. I took out the setscrew on the side but I could not get the bushing to come out.

Thanks.

Mine just falls out when I remove the set screw. The collar on the bushing has two flats. Put an adjustable wrench on it and give it a twist. Might be rusted in there.

Mine just falls out too, you must have some dirt or sawdust holding it in.

Thanks Bill and Mike.

I'll try the wrench suggetion this evennig. The mortiser is new and never been used. It was the display unit at WoodCrafters so someone may have forced it in although nothing appears to be wrong with it.

The wrench suggestion worked. I put in the smaller bushing and and then the 3/8" chisel. Man that thing cuts beautifully. I did some test cuts in 4/4 red oak and the cuts were smooth and easy with no burning and didn't require much pressure. Now I need to get things lined up square and cut my tennons.

Thanks again.
