Local small business has a 1985 Enco PBS-500 20" band saw with Carter guides. Very little use. Is it worth $400? Wiil try to wait for replies before I go look at it. Thanks.

Are you seriously asking if a 20" bandsaw with nice guides is worth $400? The guides alone are more than $100 new. So now it's a 20" BS for $300.

Yeah. You should already be there making a deal!

If you were to buy a current Enco 20" bandsaw you would be paying around $1500.

If it doesn't have major problems then I would go for it before somebody else does. Carter guides are a pricey add-on.

Georgia, shucks! I thought I might be able to get there before you... Take a SERIOUS look at it, man. As long as it is in decent order and doesn't need $500 worth of parts, get it!

No. It's not worth it. Forget it. But send me the guy's name and address and I'll sent my cousin Mario over to smack him "upside the haid" for being such a rip off artist.

I would have headed straight to the ATM.
