I made the black pen out of curly spalted hard maple and the other is copper hardware with tulipwood.

I pretty much just sanded to 600, 4 layers of sanding sealer, 2 layers of lacquer, then rubbed it out with EEE.

Nice, Karl! I favor the style of the first one, and I like the maple. The other is a nice pen, and you did good work. But, for some reason, I don't care for the "bulb" on the ends of that style - though it certainly seems popular.

I hear ya John. The first is alot more fun to make and I think shows off more of the wood grain. The second one is for a customer who wanted one pretty much like that so "the customer is alwasy right" or at least most of the time..lol

Nice looking pens Karl. I agree with John as I have never been a fan of the bulbs and knobs on pens but if that is what the customer wants that's what they get right?:D Hopefully leads to more sales for you.
