I recently ended up with about 200 of those 6" metal spring clamps. I'm not sure there was any reasoning behind the purchase decision other than the fact that they seemed useful and were a whopping $0.20 ea if I bought the whole box (well, 3 boxes).

So... Now that I have the darn things... Anyone have any particularly good or novel uses for them? Pretty much the only thing I've used them for in the past has been hanging volatile rags on the metal porch rail to dry.

Small glue ups. They can be real handy when doing luthier work or small repairs to furniture. 200 is a lot.

Hopefully you can use them in the construction of your new clamp rack!

I use one to hold the trigger in on my pressure washer when I start it.

It is only a suggestion that in woodworking "you can never have too many clamps", but I think you might have proved that statement to be in error.

You might want to donate some of them to the "free stuff board" as a prize for naming the most novel use of a spring loaded clamp. :)
