While you can never have too many clamps, you can sure have not enough space to store them. Since I only get 1 wall of our garage for shop storage, I made this mobile clamp rack based mostly off one I saw on WoodWeb.

It is pretty basic. A 2'x2' 3/4 plywood base with 2 fixed and 2 swivel casters with a pair of 2x4 panels tilted back about 6 degrees to form an A. I used metal L brackets to attach this to the base. I still have to make something to hold all my C-Clamps. They are currently in a cardboard box sitting in the middle of the base. The top row of clamps is about 6.5" off the floor - just clearing my dust filter.

In addition to the box of C-Clamps, the rack currently holds:
6 4' pipe clamps (48")
14 Irwin quick clamps (12-18")
4 Jet double header F style clamps 24"
28 F clamps from 12 - 36"
18 Bessy or similar Parallel clamps (24-54")

I still have to find room to put my spring clamps and hand screw clamps, but this was a real good start on things.

Looks good Lee. My spring clamps hang on pegs at the end of my bench.

My hand screws hang in a corner from a knotted length of rope (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=107659&d=1232574054). The handles slip through a loop and gravity does the rest.

Looks good, and very timely--been trying to plan one of these out in my head when my mind wanders at work. And I see two sides of that rack just begging for c-clamps.

Very nice, neat, and basic. I like it very much.

Good job. I built a larger one in an A-frame style a while back. I put a floor in it with cross bracing boards on the bottom. That is where I put all my c-clamps. My spring clamps all hang on the inside of the uprights.

That's a good looking rack. I made the "a" a little bigger and stuffed a lot of stuff in the unused section in the middle of the "a". http://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=68946

Nicely done.

May as well add my two cents ... in hopes of providing ideas for others.

In the style of YOURS, I built my mobile bike repair tool cabinet:

My clamp rack ... banged out a few weekends ago....

This works for me, and I never have to worry about any vertically challenged thieves:)

I seem to have a lot of F style clamps. This is the rolling cart I built for them. It also houses some parallel clamps and some spring clamps.

I have since accuired more clamps to help fill her up...:D

Very nice solution however I'd always be looking for the step stool:D.

Here is my clamp storage. 48"h X 18"w X 12"d with about 80 clamps.

John, I like your idea. Looks secure. How about a picture showing more detail or describe what you used for the bar clamps. Thanks, Paul

I like to keep my clamps in a jumbled and jostled pile.

Sorry...I do not have a picture available. However, I would be happy to send the plans to anyone interested.

Paul,

They're just held in 1 1/4" PVC 2-hole clips, spaced according to the clamp length and screwed to the framing above the drywall. They've been there for 8 years with no issues.
