Hello everyone,
I didn't have a proper mallet, and I couldn't bring myself to buy one, so made one out of scraps. This is jatoba and maple, and the veneer is black dyed anigre.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Yes, I'm definitely using it -- after all, it was only slightly more difficult to make a fancy mallet than a plain one...

What did you finish it or is it that gloss just from the flash?

It has some tung oil on it. I'm sure it didn't need anything, but I love that part when the wood comes to life...
