Guys,

does anyone have this vacuum chuck (http://www.harrisonspecialties.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HS&Product_Code=VacuumChuck&Category_Code=LatheAccessories)? It seems like a good design.
I've just ordered a vacuum pump and if I use this chuck I won't need to buy a bearing adapter. This chuck has bearings so the tube to which you connect your vacuum pump is stationary.

I am just concerned that stationary the chuck's steel tube(that goes inside of the spindle) might not be in spindle's center and will rub the spindle as it exits it.

I don't know anything about that chuck, but I have done business with Harrison Specialties before. They were fast with shipping and gave me what I asked for.

It looks like a good chuck. You might have have a little rub on the outboard side as it exits the spindle shaft due to the weight of your vacuum hose, but doubt that it will be enough to cause you any concern,

Looks like their bleed valve and vacuum gage are juxtaposed.

I know this is an older thread. But I just got mine working this last week. I got it in place and the Harrison Specialties vac chuck I bought works so well it is scary. Well made, finely machined, and works flawlessly. I honestly could recommend it enough. I have no connection to them other than being an extremely satisfied customer. It is my intention to take some pics of my current setup and get them posted.
