So I was asking about using B&W ebony for plane totes. I got some great advise from y'all... It really was an adventure making a tote and knob but I think all the toil was worth it to make this eBay find usable. Thanks again for the help, and thank you for looking.

I do believe I will be embracing my Neanderthal side more now!:D

Now I just have to fix my G-Grandpa's tote... and make a scraper plane. I'll let y'all know how that goes when I get a round tuit.

Nice work on the totes, the shapes look to be near perfect matches to the originals.

What wood did you end up using? Is that the ebony you were talking about? If so I don't think I've ever seen ebony like that.

Thank you.

I ended up using Royal Ebony also know as Black & white ebony.

Yes I have thought about it. I'm willing and able... I just need customers or a place to market them. If anyone is intersted in a set pm me.
