View Full Version : Does anybody know what this is?

I had to have these even though I don't know what they are. I have one with pictures attached. It measures 12" overall and the blade is 14". The sides are tapered like it may have slid into a hold down. Don't know if you can tell from the picture but the blade is iron and has some nice forgings on it.

Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any ideas.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but it almost looks like a steering mechanism of some kind. I think the flared ends of the "blade" were actually to keep rope from slipping off. That's my best WAG.

I think that is a cheap copy of Da Vince first hellicopter. The body ( cabin ) is missing... crashed in the first fly test.:D

You can look over at the "What Is It?" blog - http://55tools.blogspot.com/ - and
1) see if there's anything that looks like what you've got, or
2) submit your photos for possible posting and identification.

I've been looking at Rob's weekly post of strange tools, equipment, and other hardware for years...

To me, it looks like some kind of extruder. Sausage maybe? The material would be forced through the wooden hole and the turning blade would cut it into the desire length. just a WAG

I agree. Looks like the piece that goes between horses that pull a wagon. But then, I'm from So. Cal. by the beach... not too many horses out here...:D
