Anybody used Ambrosia (red) Maple

I am thinking about making a platform bed using ambrosia maple, but I have no experience with this wood. Is this a good idea and should I stick with a hard wood for this project?

I love ambrosia maple and have used it a lot. Remember that depending on how wormy it is, it could be overwhelming on large pieces. Looks good mixed with Walnut or other dark woods.
