Looking for a reasonably priced backsaw for thin-kerf cuts on smaller workpieces. Any recs?

Lee Valley
Lie Nielsen
Wenzloff & Sons
Gramercy
There are a bunch more...
The least expensive of the lot would be the Lee Valley saws I believe. They get good reviews around here.
I own a Lie Nielsen and now 4 wenzloff saws myself, along with a couple vintage saws... not all back saws.

This page has a bunch listed. http://www.backsaw.net/

low price...

thin cuts, so high tooth count and low set.

Either a japanese combination dozuki (gyochuko, Z, Razorsaw brand - I think there is some "incestuousness" with two of those names - some relations)...

... or the LV saw seems to get good reviews.

If you ever have the desire to rehabilitate old saws, they are a good option. They usually don't come in primo condition (e.g., if you get them off of the big auction site), they often comes with nasty surprises (kinked blades with hammer strikes on them, more pitting than they say they have, etc) and or not sharp nor with a tooth count or profile that you'd want.

The others suggestions are all great, but if you are truely looking for a small saw try one of these

I have a 6 1/2" one that I have used a few times and for the $$ it is a rather incredible saw.
