I apologize for the simplicity (aka, "stupidity") of my qestion, but...

I am wondering what type of glue I should use to secure a mirror to a wood panel?

Thanks.

Liquid nails et al makes an adhesive for attaching mirror tiles to walls, seems that is just what you are looking for.

Many glues will deteriorate the mirrored finish if applied to the back of the mirror. Over time, you can see the glue through the front. I'd go with the liquid nails mirror glue or equivalent.

most glass shops can provide an adhesive called mirror mastic or some equivalent. Maybe home centers as well? As noted many adhesives will eat through the mirror over time and cause ghosts and dull spots, so stick with a specialized product.

You can attach wood to the front of the mirror's glass with pure silicone, but DO NOT use silicone on the back, it eats mirrors quick. DAMHIK
