Guys,I am in the market for a plug cutter set. When I did a search, about a million of them pop up.Some of the individiual cutters cost as much as a set,and some of the sets were around 10 bucks but no names.
Since I will be doing WWing till my last days on earth,I would like to purchase a decent set but don't have a banks backing. What would your recommend be if you were in the market? Thanks Carroll

I use the Snappy plug cutters and they work fine for me. I have used them on walnut, maple, and oak with good results on all.

I am in no way associated with Snappy or any sales/distributer. Just a happy customer.

For what its worth, I have the Lee Valley Snug Plug tapered plug cutters.

They work great, I bought the set of three and used the mid-size on some real dry Purpleheart - three plugs and I let the smoke out of the board!

Not the cutters fault - it was a particularly nasty piece of PH.

I purchased a replacement and have used them successfully on oak, walnut, maple and cherry - very happy to reccommend.

The Veritas are the best I have used, though the Snappy are fine for the money.

Don't get the Wolfcraft ones from the Borg. They dull quickly.
