Haven't posted here in a while, some of you may remember me and others are new faces, but I hope to be able to be more active on the forum again. last summer and the first semester of junior year were a killer on my time. Now that things have freed up I have been turning again. Here is a piece I just finished buffing tonight,

Quilted Maple, 10.5" diameter, 6" in height.
Waterlox finish, Beall Buffed

Forgot to mention something, the wood was a christmas present, I found it online and put it on my list. The thing was the wood was completely dry when I started on it. When I was hollowing, even with a one way bowl steady, I caught a little and sheared the tenon clean off, partially due to the inertia of the bowl with all the weight of the wood. Glued the tenon back on, using the tail stock as a clamp and here it is today.
