As I posted earlier, my friend Malcolm (all 6'8" of him) had to have a cornea replacement surgery on one eye, while the other is not in good shape, either, unfortunately. Anyway, he was advised by his doctor to wear eye protection for most of a year while his eye healed from the operation. His wife asked if I could make a stand so he would have a central place to store the glasses; I whipped this utilitarian piece up, from walnut, in a couple of hours. She said it's just the ticket. I mailed it unassembled; fit in a box easier that way, and I figured it would be safer for the stand, too.
