Anyone got it? Impressions. Plan on using it with a Bosch 1617/1618.

Thanks,
Chuck

This is just my knee-jerk reaction so, take it with a grain of salt. Why spend $270 to "lift" a plunge router when the model you have allows the motor to be removed. For not much more you can get a PRL and avoid the disadvantages of the Uni; loss of bit height, manual carriage lock and all that.

When I was looking for a lift I looked at the Woodpecker and it is a really nice lift but I didn't like the chain on it, just something else to screw up.

I have the Bosch 1617 in a Jessem FX left and it really works great. No chain, built very well and it is very easy to take the router in and out as needed.

With normal bits I can bring the router right to the top to change the bits. If I do have a long bit that needs to have the motor adjusted its just a one lever and I can adjust the motor up or down and then lock it back.

It is so much better then using the base that came with the router, smoother operation and just works better overall.

Plus the Jessem is cheaper.
