I have a friend who wants me to build her a small, farm type table. 46" X 46" w/ corner legs and two 12" leaves(sp?). She wishes for the entire table to seperate (legs will move apart from each other). Are the wooden slides, such as those available from restoration hardware, strong enough to support the table in the extended position without dipping? If not, what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help.

(please excuse my apparent lack of vocabulary this AM)

Martin I'd suggest the heavy duty metal Watertown slides. I have gotten them that closed were 34" and you couild extend them out to 8'. No sag.
I get them from Moin Hardware in NY. Tel.516 593-7067. I tried wooden slides one time and took them right back off. Sagged too much.

Thanks Steve, I'll look them up.

Martin, when you talk with them they will want to know how much room (length) you have for the slide when the table is closed and what it has to open to (total width of leaves).
