Much to my delight my Veritas skew blocks showed up today. One thing puzzles me. In the box there is a small hex key and I cannot figure out what it is for. I looked in the manual and didn't see anything mentioning a hex key. I am sure it is painfully obvious, so can anyone give me a hint?

Found it. My bad.

Zach,
I have the same plane and myself was wondering about the key. Can you share what it is used for?

Thanks,
-John

it is used to adjust a small set screw on the back where the adjuster mechanism meets the body of the plane. Quite smart, really. The set screw keeps the adjuster mechanism from falling out when the blade is removed and can be tightened to lock in the lateral position. it is a tiny screw that is flush with the casting and the same color. I had to look pretty closely to find it.
