We had a 15 Y.O. water heater start to leak--slowly thank goodness. We found what we think is a bargain in Searsoutlet's web site. 40 gallon 12 year limited warranty Kenmore (made by State) for $99.98. I hate plumbing. I can sweat copper okay but it's a pain with the drip----drip-----drip crap. No, the builder's install did not include unions:mad:. I remembered Sharkbites and a DoItBest hardware store near me stocked them:cool:. I bought two. I also bought unions even though that's redundant I know. Sharkbite fittings work great:D Solder up the rest of the component, slip 'em onto the existing tubing and done! they work with copper, pex and cpvc. They ain't cheap but the frustration reduction is priceless, for me at least.
