Well, I don't have a working digital camera, but a friend took pics and posted them on my facebook account, so here they are. Sorry for the lack of photo box quality images; one day I'll get my crap together and get some professional quality pictures.

Thanks Bernie! That one took increased the "pucker factor" for sure. It is very unbalanced while spinning. The cherry turned beautifully though; it had been sitting for a couple years on top of a stone wall, which it destroyed by falling. It was pretty much bone dry by the time I got to it, as it had baked in the sun. It was sitting in front of a parked tractor's bucket one day when it got pushed out of the way to repair the stone wall. As an unsplittable piece, it was just going to get pushed into the woods. I made a bowl for the owner as a thankyou! ;)

Beautiful work, Nathan. I love the natural edge pieces. Lots of beautiful color and figure in that wood.

Great work, Nate!! Some awesome looking wood, and I think I like the cherry "wild edge" best, as well. Though, there are a couple of others there that are close seconds. How large is the big one? Looks to be pretty good size.

They all look great.

How has your injury affected your turning?

Thanks everyone. The finish is antique oil; one very liberal almost saturating coat, then a minimum of two more coats after using 3M synthetic steel wool to get the bleedout from the pores. As far as whether or not has my injury affecting turning; YES. I've turned all new handles, longer and bigger around than the factory handles, which has helped a lot. I haven't really been turning a lot of green wood; most of these were turned last fall and allowed to dry; I have boxes and boxes of roughouts, and lots of finish turned bowls that need sanding. None of these were really turned completely after my accident; just sanded and/or returned first and sanded/finished. I'm getting back into it slowly; a friend turned me onto using neoprene rubber over the handles to cushion the grip a bit, which really helps. The wide diameter helps so that I don't have to hold them in a death grip. Not fun! My max. flexion of my right index finger is at 75 degrees now; I'm working on getting to 90. Thanks for asking, and thanks for the compliments everyone.

They are all very pretty. The NE bowls are outstanding but you also did a great job with the simpler bowls.

Even though the form may be simple on them, the way the grain and coloring turned out really adds to them....

Nice work!
