I bought a quick crank for my harbor freight 14" bandsaw because the square nut froze on the old crank. the replacement came with a nut that is too small for the unit. does anyone know where I can find a 3/4" square nut for a 3/8 threaded rod.

This might be overkill, but these guys probably have what you need...

The alternative would be to weld or braze a regular nut onto a square piece of plate steel.

If you got the crank from HF, shouldn't they have one to match?

Also - you might look at Bolt Depot - they got a lot of stuff.

Most hardware or farm supply hardware store carry square nuts. Or you can order from McMaster Carr, they have them.

Lowes stocks 3/8-16 square nuts in the drawers in hardware section. Usually come in a pack of two, for about a buck. I make my own speeder handles for my Delta 14" band saws.

You could always make your own from steel or brass stock, if you do not find exactly what you need. Tom
