This one I warmed up the maple with some amber shellac prior to finishing out the call. Its hard maple and Bloodwood

Same here with the amber, but I wanted the call to have a weathered and used look. The spalted maple had really nothing to bring to the table so I hope I gave it some character.

Those look sharp. And, I really like your photos; makes me want to buy one.

Ken, there seems to be endless variation to your calls - something I think would be difficult to do. The squirrel call is beautiful. The others are typical of your fine work, and I think you nailed it with the "aged look" on the spalted one.

Great work, and as always, great pics!!

Thanks, as you can tell I like variety. The basic designs are similiar but sometimes I just do what ever comes as I am turning them. The sounds is what matters ofcourse so thats paramount.

Great calls, Ken... and the photography is awesome, as some have said before.
Is there anyway you can post some of the sounds on this forum? Just kidding... :D

If I can find some free time, I will try and get some video (with audio) posted.

Thanks for the compliments on the photos. I earn my keep shooting but not set up stuff like this.....I am an offroad race photographer so this type of stuff is clean, quiet and doesnt try to run me over!

When I do get to shoot stills(product shots, rider portraits and spreads for product advertisments, its usually outside, so shooting my calls is for me and a pleasure to do.
