I have a potential customer who has a walnut gunstock that he wants engraved. The total length is 29" I have an Epilog mini with an 18" bed. Is there anyone in the midwest who would be able to engrave a gun stock this long?

I'm sure there is someone closer, but I'm in Oregon and can engrave up to 38" x 20", or 38" x "any length" if it's able to be engraved in 20" chunks at a time.

Can you take the side off of the Mini, or is it a solid case?

Thanks Gary, I'll let him know that your available. I'm not sure that he wants to ship it that far but I'll ask.

Dan,
Mine is a solid case. Are there mini's that are not solid?

I am curious to know what is does your customer want on their stock?

I cut a hole in the side of my TT and installed a door that seals with a magnetic strip.. Great for paddles, stocks, and baseball bats..

I would also be curious as to what he wants on the stock.. Some folks have some funny ideas.. I've done photos on stocks,(light coloured ones) but you can't put one on a walnut stock there's rarely enough contrast.. Walnut is good for line art but nothing that requires shading..

Doug,
It's a line art dragon, I believe it's a Dover item.

Bill,
That's a great idea. How does it affect airflow when your engraving?

The door comes off when things get inserted through it, but I use pieces of magnetic sheeting on both sides, as well as top and bottom of everything that sticks out of the hole. The actual 'open' area is very small, and a sheet of heavy paper will still get sucked to the front of the machine, so the air flow over the tube is not impaired..
