I need to organize grinding and sharpening into one convenient location so I'm interested to see what others have done to save space and make this efficient.

I don't know if it'll work for you, but here's mine. I have a slew of the inertia sanders that I use, made from rollerblade wheels, so I had to have a place for them. Therefore, I incorporated my sanding into my sharpening cart. Since this pic was taken, I have mounted a swiveling TV shelf onto the right side that holds my Peanut Cans with all of Vince's Disks. I use Vince's Disks with all my inertia sanders.

In my garage / shop, everything has to be mobile. This sharpening station is very compact and I can wheel it right next to the lathe when I set up for turning. The casters are the double locking type to keep it from dancing while running.

Not a stand alone station but works great for me, was/will be right next to the lathe..

Turn to sharpen, turn to turn.
