Just finished my workbench. The top is hard maple and the base is ash. I cut all the joints for the base by hand, which took forever, but was a good experience. Let me know what you people think.

Now it's time to make some dogs, a bench hook, and a shooting board.

That came out really nice Sean. I eventually built a couple of drawer units that sat across the stretchers on mine. A sliding bench jack may be more to your taste. Lots of possibilities with that open design. I like to add things after I've worked with something for awhile to assess my wants/needs. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Looks like all the hard work has paid off Sean.
Great job on the workbench...
What did you use to seal the wood?

Glenn - I cut rabbits in the stretchers and eventually plan to install a shelf.

Gary - I used a couple of applications of BLO.
