Hey all , some of you have seen the headboard and first dresser I built for my wife and I for our bedrrom. Well, here is the second dresser. I'm slowly getting the suite done, now only the two night tables left. http://forum.canadianwoodworking.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Very straight forward design here. straight lines, nothing too difficult. All solid walnut with Watco black walnut Danish oil for finish. Drawers are made of birch, assembled with a pinned rabbets. Some of the birch had some great spalting in it. Too bad I used it for drawer parts, but oh well. http://forum.canadianwoodworking.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Anyway, thanks for looking. Please comment whether you like it or not. http://forum.canadianwoodworking.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Well done, Ryan, again!! This bedroom suite is going to be really nice when it all comes together. And, you are right, the spalted birch looks sweet!

Ryan,
Great looking dresser and really nice work. I assume the drawer tops are angled to provide a finger-hold. Is it enough to easily open the drawer when loaded with clothes? I'd be worried about fingers slipping when trying to pull the drawer open.

Thanks for showing

Looks terrific. Will look even more spectacular as that walnut ages.

Thanks guys.
Hans, yes, the angle is for fingers to grab, and it's plenty to grab on to without fingers slipping.
Thanks Phil, the other dresser I built is about a year old and has already lightened some. But it should age wonderfully.
