This took me 2 weeks to take apart, sand blast, paint, clean up, and build the table. It is a $100 CL find. It's like new now.

Nice work, Myk... and quick, too. My GWI is still waiting. I'll likely put it into service for a few months first.

Here's what it looked like when I picked it up.

Nice rebuild, what paint did you use?? My first MBC was very rusty, and everything got sandblasted and repainted with rustoleum hammered black. Looked really nice when it was done. The MBF I'm using right now has decent original paint, so I'm leaving it as is. Properly set up, the MBF is a joy to use.

Thanks all.
The paint is Rust-Oleum hammered copper. Base paint is aged copper.
That hammered paint is a PITA to use. Have to shake the rattle can continuously to spray it.

What blade are you running in that saw?

Right now a Marathon 8" is in it, as that is what came with the saw. I'll be buying a Freud LU83R008 for it.
It's a 9" saw, but with 3/4hp an 8" is recommended.

I have seen several RAS on CL that I was tempted to purchase but the thing that stopped me is what to do if the motor is shot. Are replacements available for the older RAS or does the motor have to be repaired?

That all depends David. Rule one is if it doesn't turn on, think twice.
It's possible that it's just a contact in the starting relay, or a capacitor.
It could also be a broken winding.
The second thing to look for are worn ways. They can be VERY expensive to have reground. All the bearings can be purchased new.
There are those that part these saws out. The only parts I haven't seen are the small bakelite knobs. The large round ones are more common to find. The delphi dewalt RAS forums are a great resource.

Any DeWalt RAS made by B&D I would pass on. Like wise C-man and Wards.
You can tell the year it was built by the motor serial number. First 4 numbers are the year and month. Mine is 58103586, so it was made 1958 Oct.

That's a nice looking rebuild. They don't make them like that anymore. Good work.
