I thought I'd try one this morning out of a small piece of Mahogany I had in the shop. SWMBO mentioned getting something to place her rings in when she does the dishes. I figured making this would be easier than pulling the trap off the sink if she lost one! All in all, it turned out well and was fun to do. I was very careful to get the "compression" fit to the lid. Nothing fancy, but functional. I'm looking forward to making more and practicing my tool techniques. Thanks for looking.

The box looks very nice.

How big (height and diameter) is it?

Hey Ron, nice box. Whatever you do don't change the lid.:D

Ron -

Very nicely done! What did you use to mark the lid? What finish?

Ted, I have a high speed engraver that I use as a mini-router to engrave my name with. I used Hutt's Crystal Coat for the finish, since I'd just made some pens and had it handy. It was fun for the first one, now I'll try some bigger ones. Thanks.

Hey Ron, you're a natural. Really great for a 1st attempt. I am looking forward to doing some boxes. Congrats on the pressure fit, too.
